E-Mail Woes

If you've sent me an e-mail in the past 3-4 days I've not received it. Apparently somebody decided to send out a huge batch of Viagra spam using queerwriters.com as the sending address. In the past few days I've gotten over 50 thousand e-mails bounce back to my e-mail address which has been a huge nightmare trying to deal with. I've also gotten a whole lot of nasty e-mails back from people replying to the spam as well. This is not the first time something like this has happened. The company th… Continue

This project is for those who--like so many of us--had no role models, no one to tell us that we were val… Continue

Call For Submissions- Gay City: Volume Two

Gay City Health Project is seeking high-concept, gay-themed fiction, poetry, photography and comic art for its second, annual anthology. You do NOT have to be gay or male to submit work. The theme for this volume is “Toward a Manifesto.” As homo and bi-sexuals become more mainstream, we are continually redefining “gay culture.” What is gay culture? If we had a manifesto of gay art, what would its products look like? Blast beyond the gay clichés. Find new truths in old manifestos. Do you have so… Continue

New Anthology Explores the Hidden Links Between Queer Men's Writing and Surrealism

Dreams, desire, darkened streets and the sudden miracles that appear there, the deep places of the mind. Two groups made these the heart of a radical project of liberation: queers and surrealism. Better than many others, queers understand the power of these dark areas. The rich, complicated culture we’ve created for ourselves is constantly ready to allow us to follow our dreams and fantasies, carried by the surging waves of sexualit… Continue

GAY PROSECUTOR AND ROMANCE WRITER CHALLENGES CATHOLIC HIERARCHY

On June 10, Arcade Publishing will release a new book by gay federal prosecutor Scott D. Pomfret called Since My Last Confession. Pomfret, a Catholic, tells two intertwined stories: 1) How he -- as a gay Catholic federal prosecutor, romance writer, and practicing Catholic and lector -- reconciled faith, gay romance, and a hostile Roman Catholic hierarchy; and 2) How equality advocates defeated an amendment banning same-sex marriage in Massachusetts, the second-most Catholic state in the countr… Continue
